Alocasia Sarian, also known as Alocasia 'Sarian', is a striking tropical plant known for its large, dramatic leaves and unique appearance. The leaves of Alocasia Sarian are the highlight of this plant. They are large, heart-shaped, and glossy, with prominent veins that create an intricate pattern on both sides of the leaf. The coloration is typically deep green, often with contrasting veins that can be white, silver, or even a reddish-purple, depending on the age and growing conditions of the plant.

Mature leaves can reach impressive sizes, sometimes up to 2 feet (60 cm) or more in length, and are supported by sturdy petioles (leaf stalks).

  • Lighting

    Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves. Can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow. If grown outdoors, place in partial shade.

  • Watering

    Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid overwatering, as Alocasia is prone to root rot. Use distilled, filtered, or rainwater to prevent leaf browning.

  • Toxicity

    Toxic to pets and humans if ingested (contains calcium oxalate crystals). Keep away from cats, dogs, and children. If ingested, it can cause mouth irritation, drooling, and stomach upset. Wear gloves when handling if you have sensitive skin.

  • Fertilization

    Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer (diluted to half strength). Do not fertilize in fall and winter when the plant is dormant. Avoid over-fertilizing, which can cause salt buildup and leaf damage. Organic fertilizers like worm castings or fish emulsion are great options!
