Nepenthes alata, commonly known as the Philippine Pitcher Plant, is a captivating carnivorous plant known for its unique pitcher-shaped leaves that trap and digest insects. The plant features elongated, waxy leaves that can grow up to 10-12 inches long. The leaf base forms a hollow, tubular structure called a pitcher. The pitchers can vary in color, typically displaying shades of green, red, or purple, often with attractive speckles or stripes.
