Common Problems Q&A

Overwatering: Begonias are susceptible to root rot if their soil remains too wet for prolonged periods. Signs of overwatering include yellowing leaves, wilting, and mushy stems. It's crucial to allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings and ensure proper drainage in the pot.

Insufficient Light: Begonias generally prefer bright, indirect light. If they receive too little light, they may become leggy (long stems with sparse leaves), fail to flower, or exhibit pale, yellowing leaves. Placing them near a window with filtered sunlight or providing artificial grow lights can help mitigate this issue.

Humidity Issues: Begonias thrive in high humidity environments. Low humidity can cause their leaves to brown at the edges or drop prematurely. To increase humidity, you can mist the plant regularly, place it on a humidity tray, or use a room humidifier. Avoid placing begonias near drafts or heating vents, which can also affect humidity levels negatively.
