Yellowing Leaves
Causes:
- Overwatering (most common)
- Poor drainage
- Underwatering
- Natural leaf shedding (older leaves)
Solutions:
✅ Check soil moisture before watering—allow the top 1-2 inches to dry before watering again.
✅ Use a well-draining potting mix (peat moss, perlite, orchid bark).
✅ Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
✅ If only one or two lower leaves are yellowing, it may be natural aging—trim them off.
Brown, Crispy Leaf Edges
Causes:
- Low humidity
- Underwatering
- Salt or chemicals in tap water
Solutions:
✅ Increase humidity to 60%+ with a humidifier, pebble tray, or regular misting.
✅ Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil is dry, but avoid overwatering.
✅ Use distilled, filtered, or rainwater to prevent chemical buildup.
Drooping or Wilting Leaves
Causes:
- Overwatering or underwatering
- Temperature stress (cold drafts or heat)
- Root rot
Solutions:
✅ Check the soil moisture—if soggy, allow it to dry out before watering again.
✅ Keep the plant in a warm (65-80°F / 18-27°C) environment and away from cold drafts.
✅ If roots are brown and mushy, trim them and repot in fresh soil.
Curling Leaves
Causes:
- Underwatering
- Low humidity
- Pest infestation
Solutions:
✅ Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil is dry.
✅ Increase humidity levels (use a humidifier or misting routine).
✅ Check for pests (spider mites, aphids) and treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
